FAQs on Culligan DGD-5005-20 and SP-DD-5005-20BB

Is this a genuine Culligan DGD-5005-20 filter?

This is a SpiroPure SP-DD-5005-20BB compatible replacement, rather than a Culligan-branded cartridge. It offers an alternative for customers replacing the referenced Culligan model.

Is this the same as the Pentek DGD-5005-20 / 155358-43?

They are different branded products. This listing is for the SpiroPure SP-DD-5005-20BB. When comparing replacement options, check each product’s dimensions, micron rating, operating limits, and any product-specific certifications.

What size is the SpiroPure SP-DD-5005-20BB?

The cartridge has nominal dimensions of 20 inches long by 4.5 inches in diameter. Check your housing’s required cartridge dimensions before ordering.

What micron rating is the SP-DD-5005-20BB?

It has a nominal dual-gradient rating of 50 to 5 microns, with a coarser outer layer and a finer inner layer for sediment filtration.

Can I use this in any 20 x 4.5 housing?

Check your housing’s model and cartridge requirements to confirm fit. The nominal 20 × 4.5-inch size is a starting point; cartridge design and housing requirements also matter.

How often should this filter be replaced?

Replacement timing depends on sediment levels, water use, and operating conditions. Follow the cartridge and housing maintenance instructions, and check whether the cartridge needs replacing if water flow decreases or pressure drop increases.
