How does the 3MFF100 retain the 2.5 gpm flow rate while offering 0.2 micron filtration?

    The 3MFF100 uses membrane filtration and advanced carbon block technology borrowed from 3M’s Integrated Membrane Pre-Activated Carbon Technology ("I.M.P.A.C.T.") Food Service filters. The "IMPACT" media package combines a patented pharmaceutical-grade microporous membrane and a pre-activated carbon block in a single cartridge to dramatically reduce pressure drop and practically eliminate the need for pre-filtration. The integrated membrane provides superior sediment holding capabilities while reducing Cryptosporidium and Giardia cysts (NSF Standard 53) and over 99.99% of all water-borne bacteria (measured with E.coli). The pleated membrane provides the sub-micron cyst rating while allowing a higher flow versus other technologies.
